Strategic Advisory

Better growth decisions before more work begins.

Every leadership team faces the same important questions:
  • Which problem matters most right now?
  • Which assumptions are worth challenging?
  • Where should the business focus next?
Strategic Advisory gives CEOs and leadership teams an experienced partner for those decisions — not on a project basis, but as an ongoing part of how the business operates.
I get close enough to the business to understand the goals, numbers, market, customers, and internal dynamics. That means a regular seat in leadership meetings and strategic planning, and ongoing visibility into how the business is performing. I'll regularly review what your teams are already tracking, and help them figure out what needs to be measured if visibility doesn't exist yet.
My recommendations may involve marketing. They may involve sales, positioning, pricing, retention, operations, team structure, or a decision to stop investing in something that isn't working. We start with the goal the business needs to reach and follow the answer wherever it leads.

How It Works

  • A Standing Seat at the Table

I participate in the conversations where important growth decisions get made — leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and performance reviews. I also review the numbers your teams are tracking, and where the right visibility doesn't exist yet, I help you figure out what should be measured and why.
  • Diagnose the Real Bottleneck

We look beyond the visible symptoms to understand what is actually standing between the business and its goal. That could be market demand, positioning, pipeline quality, sales conversion, customer retention or expansion, ownership and operating systems, leadership capacity, or an investment based on an untested assumption.
  • Prioritize by Business Value

We evaluate potential priorities by impact, urgency, effort, and the organization's ability to influence the outcome. The goal is identifying the bottleneck that matters most and addressing it before investing elsewhere.
  • Advise and Evaluate

I challenge assumptions, pressure-test options, review important work, and help leadership decide what to continue, change, accelerate, or stop. Your internal leaders retain ownership of execution — I help make sure they're executing the right strategy.

What You Get

  • Better Executive Decisions

An outside perspective grounded in nearly 20 years of experience across marketing, sales, customer success, go-to-market strategy, and revenue operations.

  • The Right Visibility

Regular review of how the business is actually performing — and where the reporting doesn't exist yet to show that clearly, guidance on what should be measured.

  • Clearer Priorities

Separation between the work that matters and the activity that's simply consuming time, attention, or budget.

  • Cross-Functional Perspective

A view that connects marketing, sales, operations, technology, and the customer experience, rather than evaluating each in isolation.

  • Constructive Challenge

The uncomfortable questions asked before the company commits significant time or money to a decision built on assumptions.

  • Ongoing Strategic Alignment

Regular check-ins on whether the company is still solving its highest-value bottleneck — or whether the business has changed enough that the plan should change with it.

Strategic Advisory is $10,000 to $12,000 per month — a monthly retainer with a six-month minimum.

Where you land in the range depends on the size and complexity of the business, the meetings I participate in, and the cadence of our work together. Larger organizations or weekly cadence engagements run higher.

This is a standing relationship, not a project. Six months gives the work time to compound — most engagements continue well beyond that once the rhythm is established.

Not sure whether you need an advisor or someone to lead the marketing function? Tell me what the business is trying to accomplish and where the work is getting stuck. I'll tell you honestly which engagement makes sense — and if the answer is neither, I'll tell you that too.

Is This For You?

Strategic Advisory works well when:

  • You're a CEO or executive navigating consequential growth decisions.
  • You already have functional leaders or partners who can execute.
  • You need someone who can connect decisions across the business.
  • You want an ongoing partner with real visibility into the business, not someone who parachutes in periodically.
  • You value direct feedback and thoughtful challenge.
  • You're willing to provide the access and information needed to give sound advice.

This engagement doesn't include direct reports, campaign management, or day-to-day ownership of the marketing function. If you need someone to own marketing strategy, lead the team, and drive execution, a Fractional CMO engagement is the better fit.
